Every kid understands that asking is the only available way to getting things he want, at that stage he obviously can’t provide for himself so asking his parents is simply the way out, sometimes he might have to earn it but he has to ask first.
Parents can only propose what a child needs, its left for the child to say what he wants, make his choices by ASKING FOR IT.
As a kid you understand this, that’s why you probably agree with me, but as an individual who is no longer a kid you don’t really believe it works, it might work for your kids but it’s not just working for you.
Most Probably because you think it’s a kid thing, only works for kids.
Well I have to tell you, you are wrong. Perhaps let me tell you why you don’t believe it works. While growing up, you become more responsible for yourself and your parents and guardians start vesting responsibilities and expectations on you such that the more you grow you are expected to do more things by yourself.
By default, you get fewer things than you ask for creating a sort of disappointment in you and gradually fear.
By the time you are grown, you are nearly too scared to ask people for things, ask for what you want from life. Why, because you are afraid you are not going to get it.
Life’s experiences and challenges have taught you that you can’t always get what you want, How wrong you are. Challenges are not negative teachers; they are just examinations you must pass.
Think of challenges as an entrance exam, not a devil blocking your way.
Let me make it simpler, talking about wants and needs there are basically 3 categories of people,
1. People Who don’t need it
2. People who need it but not crazy enough to get it.
3. People who need it badly.
Obviously the resource can’t be offered on a platter of Gold because it’s not enough for everyone so it’s important that they are in the right hands.
The only way to ensure they are in the right hands is to put some principles in place. I’m sure if you were life, you would want to redistribute needs of people to those who need it badly. How do you do that?
Let me Guess, set an exam right?
Exactly, that’s what life does; it sets challenges and obstacles just to separate the serious ones from the unserious ones.
So if you give up, stop asking because of fear of challenges, you obviously don’t need it enough. Jesus Said, ask and it shall be given unto you.
So all you need to is ask, keep asking till you get it.
But wait, how do You Ask?
I will leave you to ponder on that question or try asking before the next article.
