Absurd! How Do I Tell Daddy That My Mum Has Been Warming The Bed Of His Best Friend?

Sometimes it’s hard to explain the kinds of things we go through in life. With a friend like Chief Adeaga; no one needs an enemy. What he did or still doing to my dad makes me wonder why life brings some people our way. Can you imagine catching my father’s “best” friend having sex with my mum on her matrimonial bed? It happened live and is still happening dear readers; what you are about to read happened real! I won’t take much of your time because the story is still unfolding, and all I need is your advice because I can’t even mention it in the ears of my dad who is hypertensive.

My dad has been hypertensive for quite sometime now, and you can understand why it is not a great idea to break the news of what has been going on between my mother and his best friend. Chief Adeaga and my dad have been friends since their university days according to what my dad told us. He was even my dad’s best man when they got married some 32 years ago in Lagos.

So, you can imagine the shock when I came back home to pick up some money from my dad’s pocket to get some drugs the doctor asked us to buy for my dad. Having left my dad in the hospital; I was in no mood to waste a single minute so I could buy him his medication, and bring him back home. Perhaps, the door was not locked or my mum and her lover thought they locked it; all I knew was that I caught my dad’s best friend on my mum having sex.

I was so shocked to the marrow that I couldn’t even utter a single word about what I saw. I sat down not knowing what to say to both of them; but I was conscious of happenings around me. My mum instantly went on her knees and started crying; pleading with me not to expose her since it would hurt my dad and send him to his grave. Chief Adeaga just buried his head in his hands and could not mutter a single word.I couldn’t scream because I didn’t want our neighbours to know what was happening. That aside, I was also aware of the doctor’s instructions on how not to raise daddy’s blood pressure.

Eventually I was able to gather myself together to get what I came for, and moved out of the room. I did explain what

I saw to my siblings; and we all agreed not to disclose the matter to my dad.But I keep wondering what will happen if  my dad gets to know about this one day.Would he ever forgive us if  he knew we kept such a thing from him?

My brothers and I are keeping silent because we want our dad to live long; but how sure are we that the story will not filter into his ears sooner or later? We either tell him and let him die in peace or we keep it and let some other persons do it for us.

Ironically, my dad holds his friend in high regard. He never stops telling us how proud he is to have a friend like chief Adeaga. My dad’s love for my mum is even so strong that he never stops telling us the story of how they met some years ago while they were both in the university.

I love my dad, and I am prepared to keep the secret away from him for now but my conscience is worrying me so much and how do I keep the neighbours and his other friends who are suspicious already from letting him into the secret that might eventually snuff life out of him?

I dont know maybe I should go ahead and tell him or keep a secret that will forever be heavy on my mind. Please need your advice
