Why Should My Younger Brother Marry My Ex?

BY IYANDA   •   January 20, 2014   •   3 MIN READ

Being in love doesn’t mean you have to loose your sanity, and sense of reasoning; but not everyone agrees with this. My younger brother who is 3 years younger thinks there is nothing wrong in not just dating my ex, but also marrying her. It’s even crazy and absurd because he thinks I am jealous because my ex doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore.

Liz and I dated for more than 2 years while in the university. We were virtually inseparable on campus, and our kind of relationship was a model to most undergraduates in school in those days. So strong was our relationship that no one ever thought we would end up not getting married. As fate would have it, things didn’t work according to plan as Liz caught me cheating on her.

Our breakup was due to my inability to remain faithful to her; and it hurts me that I let her go the way she did. I tried all I could to reconcile with her, but it just didn’t work out as I wished; and that was how we both went our separate ways since then.

Three years since we went our separate ways and didn’t communicate with each other; she suddenly shows up, this time as my younger brother’s girlfriend. Liz was shocked to find out that Abraham is my younger brother; and I thought she would call it quit with him; but that was not to be. Things have even moved too quickly between the two of them that Liz even called to ask me not to come between the two of them. How could it be possible that my younger brother is dating the same lady I dated and had sex with on several occasions in the past?

You might say I am jealous, but it is actually beyond that because the thought of my brother fishing in the same pond with me makes me sick. My younger brother now goes about telling my friends and colleagues that I am jealous of him; making it look like we are waging war against each other.

I don’t even know what to do because it makes me feel sad. Perhaps, I should talk to my parents by going to the village to explain the entire situation to them before things get out of hand.

Dear readers, do you think I have no right to be angry at them? Do you think I should leave them alone? Liz is a very nice, caring, and attractive lady; but I would rather recommend her to someone else, not my younger brother. How do I make my brother see reason, and call it quit with this absurdity?

What would you do if you found yourself in similar situation?
