We never seem to do things right or the way other people do it all over the world do it. I mean there is nothing wrong in being different or unique, but it shouldn’t be at the detriment of what is good. My question this time around is: why is there so much emphasis on paper qualification in Nigeria?
Must talent or skill be backed up with some paper qualification from some schools? Is it wrong to employ a man based on his experience and ability to do a job over his paper qualification? I mean would you make employing someone with paper qualification a priority over hiring someone who has skills and can get the job done without much supervision?
As a recruiter or human resource person saddled with the task of employing only the best person for the job or for a position, would you overlook a man’s skills and ability to get the job done over his poor academic qualifications?
Will we as a nation ever experience a situation where people with proven skills and talent get the nod over those with paper qualification?
