Why Do People Assume That Men Who Are Old And Single Are Not Responsible?
Please I want to know if this is just my thought or a figment of my imagination. Is it right to assume that old and unmarried men are irresponsible? Ok it is not just me because it is something we hear or see in our society. Once you have attained that magic ‘age,’ as a guy, and you are not married, people start viewing you differently. Your friends who have settled down start seeing you as someone is not serious.
Is it always right to view people like that? Don’t we all think they at least have reasons why they haven’t settled down? By the way, is marriage a condition or yardstick for assessing one’s progress or achievement in life? As a man who is old and single, how do you normally react to this pressure? How often do you get asked or rebuked for not being able to settle down?
For those who are married already, how do you view your unmarried friends? Do you see them as unserious people who simply don’t want to commit to a life of marriage? Perhaps, it is also important to let us know how your friends react to this criticism.
