Why Are Most Nurses In Government Hospitals Harsh On Patient?

Ever been to a government hospital before? In case you haven’t, the truth is that most of them are not only perceived to be harsh and somehow rude to patients; they are actually unfriendly. I was at this General Hospital a couple of weeks back, and what I saw really baffled me and got me thinking. Nurses address patients as if they are beggars. The way a particular nurse addressed a sick woman was so embarrassing you would think the woman was a maid.

Can’t nurses in public health institutions show some little kindness to the sick? I mean there are certain sicknesses that can be healed by just showing human kindness. The attitude in most General Hospitals cut across as most employees assume the role of lords over people they are supposed to show some love to. You can hardly find a polite medical staff that will show you some respect or care.

What could be the cause of this carefree and nonchalant attitude towards the sick in government hospitals? Is the government not doing enough in terms of welfare of its medical staff?
