What Would Your Epitaph Look Like?

May we all live long , grow old and furfil the purpose for our lives. So now I can start with my article.

One of thing never stops pacing through my mind each time I think of this life is how the story of my life would look like after my departure.Am sure it might have crossed your mind onetime.I hope its not only me o.

Seriously, I would want my epitaph to read like this not this exact words , far better than this ; “here lays the body of a man who contributed in his own special way to positively affect the lives of those around him.” That is what I would want inscribed on my epitaph; but have you ever thought what yours is going to look like. However, I feel you can have a great and remarkable epitaph just by positively affecting the lives of those around you.

What is it about an epitaph that has become a matter that never stops pacing through my heart all the time? The truth is I don’t want to have to instruct my children and neighbours on what should be written on my epitaph; but my actions before I depart this world can make things easier.

Our time is so short that we hardly have the time to complete our plans sometimes. We are short on time, and not even all our academic and mundane achievements can suffice the time we have left. If I don’t act before noon, things might become too late and all I will ever have after living this world is regret. I may not have the power to change what people would inscribe on my epitaph after I am gone; but I can help make things easier by touching lives now.

Touching lives  should  really be all that matters because we are linked in one way or the other. Black or white, man or woman; race  and religion every one of us is connected and I believe this is how it should be if we want a life and world full of love.

We could lock ourselves up in our fortified mansions, and heavily guarded buildings; but there is absolutely no reason to lock the gates of our hearts to people who need our attention. We could turn the radio off; but never should we turn deaf ears to cries and yearnings of those who need a helping hand. I want to leave this world a happy and fulfilled man; and this is only achievable with a heart of flesh, and not of stone.

How can we do this?Just by doing little things that we feel doesnt matter much might really go a long way for who ever you helped out one way or another.Imagine sending a kid to school, by helping that poor widow who needs our little assistance, by doing simple basic things that might truly affect or change someone life for the better , and by taking stock of how and what we have been able to achieve or not achieved everyday. Even just helping  some kids cross those roads where there are no zebra signs. Defend the defenceless if you are a solicitor or lawyer, empower the unemployed, and take kids off the streets. The list is endless , all we truly have to do is search our hearts and try make a difference in one true way.

You can even do more especially if you are a clergy because you can help speak the truth to your congregation. Everyone wants to leave behind a good name and legacy; and that must include you!

Remember what I said earlier about how I want my epitaph to look like long after I am gone. Remember that great achievements have a way of being replicated, and so does evil. If you want to stamp out evil from our world and have a befitting epitaph after you are gone; then have a change of heart today!

Don’t worry about the display picture I used my people, we shall grow old and enjoy the fruits of our labour.

Please do feel free to mention ideas about charity works, ways we can all be useful or to go about touching lives of people who truly need it.
