So many people define cheating in marriage and relationship in different ways and by their own standards. The truth is what Mrs. A defines as cheating might be different from what Mrs. B calls it—it is sometimes relative to the individual. A man who decides to exchange phone numbers or BBM pin with a woman might not have any ulterior motive in mind; but might be misunderstood as having such by his partner.

So what defines cheating in marriage or relationship. Here are some quick tips to help you out. However, it is not safe to assume that your partner is cheating on you if you come across any or some of these tips. It behoves you to do your findings properly before drawing conclusions as mere conclusions could ruin your relationship or marriage.

  • Flirt with the opposite sex.
  • Engage in sexual chat/talk with the opposite sex.
  • Engage in specific kind of contact with the opposite sex (staying and sleeping in the same hotel room with the opposite sex when there are obvious reasons not to do so).
  • Deny being married or in a relationship.
  • Always gives or comes up with excuses not to wear his wedding ring.
  • Spends time with the opposite sex.
  • Always on the phone with a particular person, and is always uncomfortable making or receiving the calls when you are around.
  • Develops a crush or feeling towards another person.
  • Shares private thoughts or feelings with the opposite sex.
  • Buys intimate gifts for a secret friend.
  • Suddenly starts locking his phones with some secret codes/passwords.

When rules as to what counts as cheating in a relationship or marriage are vague and unclear to both parties; accusing your partner of cheating on you can be very difficult, especially when there are no concrete evidences to prove your suspicion.

A partner who chooses to start keeping secrets from his other half could be up to no good; especially when there is an agreement not to do so.

Do all you can to have a serious chat with your partner if you feel suspicious about his sudden change of attitude. His explanation might help you clear your doubts.
