WHAT A MAN CAN DO WHEN HUNGRY
I’m here again with my barrels of thoughts. Will I ever stop thinking? Laughing out loud. Just thought about one of my hommies and I can’t just stop laughing.
Me and Sola used to be roommates back then in school and we ended up being very close. We were so fond of each other that we follow ourselves everywhere. We were known for that so we earned the five and six award. We both liked it because we didn’t have much to do then than to show ourselves.
We woke up one morning and decided to go on a trip. We heard that the city was full of tourist attractions and we wanted to explore the world. We fixed a date and we made all necessary financial preparation. The day actually came and off we went into the beautiful city of holland
We had the best of moments on our first and second day in Amsterdam. We met a lot of girls and trust me, we didn’t dull.
The girls were awesome. They understand how to help men like us to utilize their money. Things that we didn’t think it was necessary to buy, they brought them to our notice. They helped spend our money awesomely. Before we could say Jack, our money was drained. We managed to search ourselves for the little money that would take us back home. We couldn’t afford a cheap lunch from it, so we kept it safe and we told the girls that their time was up.
To our surprise, they requested for their pay off. Despite all we bought for them. They were the reason why we were returning home so soon. They were the reason why we couldn’t spend up to one week as we planned. We were infuriated and angrily told them to go. We confessed to them that we were broke and told them to find their ways.
It didn’t really help. The former beautiful girls had turned out to be beast within the twinkle of an eye. They threatened to embarrass us. We knew what they could do if we don’t meet their needs so we decided to beg them and give them the last dine on us meant for our transportation. They collected it and said it wasn’t enough. So we had to look for an alternative.
They were considerate enough to accept our properties in exchange for money. They made away with both our gold chains and wristwatches. They even took our extra trousers and so we were stranded.
We started roaming about the city of California from dawn till dusk looking for what to eat, where to sleep and how to go back home. We were weak and tired. Later in the night, we ended up in front of a church. You know those kinds of white garment churches? Not everybody feel comfortable with churches other than their own or the ones they’ve been familiar with.
I told my friend to let us enter the church and seek for shelter. After all, it was just for us to pass the night. He totally disagreed. He was so stubborn that despite our condition, he just didn’t give in. After I persuaded him for a long time and he refused, I had no choice but to go alone and leave him behind.
On getting to the church, I was asked to put off my shoes and bow down my head to the floor before I enter. At first, I felt reluctant to do that. But, when I realized I had no strength again, I did it slowly. I was given a delicious meal and I slept comfortably through the night.
I woke up hale and hearty in search of my friend. When I saw him, he looked more than tired. I asked him how his night was and he said he faced hell. He’d managed to sleep on the floor of a call centre. I told him my own good story and he still didn’t change his mind. He insisted that until he finds his way out of California, he won’t step in that church. He condemned me for allowing myself to bow to the floor because of hunger. I ignored him and went back there for another night.
On the third day of our aimless wandering, my stubborn friend got fed up and told me shamelessly that he was willing to go to the church with me. He complained of serious body pain and hunger and I just mocked him the more.
When we got to the church together, I took the lead by bowing my head as supposed. As I was moving into the church, I just heard pounding sound from my back. I wondered what it was. It was not long after that I realized that it was my friend who eagerly knocked his head on the ground while bowing. I saw the eagerness in his hungry face.
We were served by the church again and my friend said he liked the church and the members. He confessed that he was tripped by their kind gesture. I began to wonder how my friend who has totally condemned the church has suddenly liked it. Wasn’t it because he was hungry?
A man can really be different when he’s hungry.
