Matters of the Heart

Bearing You Children Doesn’t Stop Her From Betraying You Like My Wife Did

I know my heading may sound alarming, but this advice is for all men who want to live long. It really doesn’t matter if my mum is a woman; all women are terrible and full of deceit.

Tinu and I got married at a time when things were smooth for me in terms of money. Though, a lot of guys were trying to woo her at the time I married her, she nonetheless said yes to me without much stress (if only I knew at that time that she said yes because of my wealth). God blessed us with three kids (two females and one male); and our financial condition continued to improve.

However, things have not really been that smooth in the last few years because. My business has not been running smoothly, and money has not been coming as it used to. We can no longer afford all the good things money can buy because of our meagre income. Before now, Tinu was not working since the income I was earning was enough to sustain everyone in the family. So we both agreed that she should get a teaching job in order to help the family out until things improve.

Tinu worked for a few months as planned, but later started complaining of fatigue and stress. I encouraged her in the little way I could and sometimes had to be hard on her.

One evening after I got back from work I didn’t meet my wife at home. I asked the children where there mum had gone to, and they said they didn’t know. All through the evening and into the night I didn’t see my wife and I became very worried. I called her line several times, but she didn’t pick it and later it was no longer available.

Dear readers, after reporting the matter to the police and informing her parents, we decided to turn to God for help. For over three weeks no one could tell precisely where my wife was until I started hearing all sorts of rumours about her whereabouts.

It is a world full of treachery and betrayal…

My wife now lives with a childhood friend of mine who was the best man during our marriage. It is no longer a rumour, but confirmed that my wife is now living with my childhood friend in Abeokuta and is most likely pregnant for him. I was shocked at first, but on a second thought I am no longer surprised because Gani (my friend) is not only very rich, but uses his riches to entice people’s wife; but why my wife?

I don’t even know whether to file for divorce or leave everything to God. Her parents have washed their hands off the matter; but the pain of losing the mother of my three children to my childhood friend is so painful. What do I tell my children when they start pressuring me to tell them about the whereabouts of their mother?

It has now become obvious that Tinu married me because of my money and not for love. How I didn’t see this coming still baffles me as I type this…I know my heading may sound alarming, but this advice is for all men who want to live long.
