Must You Marry Your Partner Because She Is Pregnant?

Why do most people rush to tie the knot as soon as they discovered that a lady is expecting a baby? I have seen this a number of times, and this looks like a common thing these days.

Parents who suddenly discovered that their daughters have been put in family ways want a quick wedding arranged. This is common, and I want to know if it is abnormal for a woman to be delivered of a baby out of wedlock.

Suddenly a date is fixed, and a venue for the D-day (wedding day) is arranged and paid for; “my daughter must have her baby in her husband’s house. This is the general feeling of most parents these days, regardless of tribe or culture.

What would you do if your daughter opens up that she is pregnant for a man who she is not married to? Would you hurriedly start arranging for a quick wedding?

As a father, what if your son has put a lady in the family way, would you encourage a fire brigade wedding or ask him to chill and properly arrange things?

So must you marry your partner because she is pregnant ?
