Is There A Particular Age When A Lady Must Get Married?
In Nigeria and maybe other parts of Africa, ladies start feeling the pressure to get married as soon as they attain a particular age. This is common when the lady has crossed a certain age. For instance, a lady who still resides in her parent’s house at 25 or 26 could start feeling all kinds of pressure to come home with a prospective husband.
Is it compulsory or necessary to bring home a man at a particular age? The society also thinks there is a particular age, but there seems to be a disagreement on the minimum age. No one seems to be an authority on this even though they quite agree that a woman should have settled down at a particular age. Have you had that experience before, and how did you handle it?
People claim even Journalists too are not left out when it comes to mounting pressures on ladies as it is usually one of the first questions they ask when interviewing a female celebrity in Nigeria. So what do you think, is it a part of our culture?
