I Won’t Let My Husband And His Family Members Come Near My Daughters My husband and his mother threw me out of my matrimonial home fourteen years ago because I couldn’t give their son (my husband) a male child. Iyanda, the only thing I feel for my husband and mother in-law is nothing but deep hatred. I endured untold humiliation and hardship to raise my girls to make them what they are today; but for God’s grace things wouldn’t have turned for the better. It was tough raising those girls as I had to play a dual role as a mother and also as a father. It was hell and one experience I love to forget in a hurry. I have tried all I could to forget it, but each time his phone rings asking for forgiveness, the wound reopens again and I start crying. Now he wants to come back to a woman he once described as ‘a producer of useless babies.’ Now my husband and his mother have been sending emissaries to me; they want me back. I want nothing to do with them, and thank God my daughters are behind me. Though, I pity my (ex) husband, my daughters are not prepared to give in to any pressure, and have continued to insist they no longer have a father. I am still unmarried, but I no longer have feelings for my (ex) husband after these years. While I can’t deny the fact that he has a right to see his children, I find it difficult to convince the girls to forgive and accept him as their father. I don’t want any trouble with my girls, but one of them has threatened to leave the house and never return if my husband and I reconciled. My husband is just the type who likes listening to his extended family. Regardless of what I feel, he goes ahead to do their biddings, which really affected the family back then. I am in a dilemma at the moment, and that is why I want you guys to counsel me on how to get out of this mess. I am in a serious dilemma now, and that is why I need your help. I need you guys to advise me because everyone around me seems to be saying something different; and the confusion in my head is killing me faster than I thought.
