Didn’t know how not to sound like an alarmist with that headline, but my hands are tied here. I always thought the best place to get a faithful, decent and God-fearing woman was in the church. I always held on to this view, especially since my pastor always advised us to marry from within the church in order to be on a safe side. I held on to this piece of advice since my days in college; but it has landed me in a messy situation.
After playing around with women for a couple of years as an undergraduate; I thought it was time to settle down especially since my parents were already mounting the pressure. I thought I was smart not to marry from the numerous ladies I dated while at the university and also at the NYSC. I played all the games I had to play and proceeded to the labour market where I succeeded in getting a decent job. After a few years, like I said, my parents started piling the pressure. Moreover, it was time I settled down considering the fact that most of my friends and colleagues were already settling down.
Not that I wasn’t dating some ladies at the time; but I never considered them good enough to take home to mama. My dream from college days was to find a “sister” in church and get married to her. So I set out to observe carefully some of the ladies I had been monitoring in the church. From the Sunday School department to the Choir department; my eyes and ears were making observations.
To cut the story short, I developed interest in this “godly” sister in the Sunday School department. She was everyone’s favourite, but was not dating anyone at the time I approached her. Though, I later discovered that my approach was the wrong one. The order of things was not properly followed by me because I was supposed to see the church authorities and make my intentions known. However, things happened really fast as Bimpe and I started dating and before you could say Jack Robinson, we were already married. The pastor didn’t waste time in giving his blessing because both of us were members of the same church.
The devil doesn’t appear to a Christian with his horns on his head…
I should have known that demons have the power to transform into angels of light because that was what happened a few months after our marriage. Apart from being a nymphomaniac or sex freak, Bimpe takes alcohol. The sex part of her life didn’t bother me because it could be her nature, but how can drinking alcohol be her nature? From her words, she has been drinking since her polytechnic days; but kept it from her friends and relatives. She only buys it and turns it into her aluminium bottled water in order to bring it home.
My wife is a saint in the church, but a demon at home because her utterances and actions are different from what she teaches in the Sunday School. My wife watches adult movies late at night, and doesn’t see any reason why couples shouldn’t do that. How can a Sunday School teacher be asking me for blowjob or mouth action? I am just tired of the marriage already. Sometimes we could go on for an entire week without saying a word to each other. We argue and quarrel a lot, and sometimes we even call each other names.
Now I know that marrying from the church is not always the best as Bimpe has started proving this with her actions.
That married for better or for worse is not my thing because I am going to file for divorce very soon because things keep getting worse.
