“Good listeners, like precious gems, are to be treasured,”—Walter Anderson.
Speaking the right words at the right time is crucial, but even more crucial is giving someone your listening ears. Some of us just love to talk and talk without showing respect to others.
People respect, come to us and trust us with their problems when we offer them our listening ears. When someone comes to you with a heavy heart, it is comely to listen to him and respond only when the person has finished pouring out his heart. Never interrupt a man pouring out his heart in the midst of his conversation with you because that is what most of us do. We love to interrupt people when they talk and seize the occasion to express our pains; this is not right.
Learn to show some respect, and be inspired by the words of Walter Anderson who says: “Good listeners, like precious gems, are to be treasured.”
