“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader,”—John Quincy Adams.
There are questions you need to ask yourself if you are seated in a position of leadership. These questions will not only prick your conscience, but will also spur you to greater heights. The questions will either make you a great leader or one that will be honest enough to say “I don’t deserve to lead these people.”
First, you must be an inspiration to others. Do you have enough in you to inspire your followers and subordinates to actions? Are your steps inspiring to others enough? Are you a leader that people can draw inspiration from? Measure yourself by these few questions, and score yourself to know if you are among men qualified to lead others.
Secondly, your actions and words must encourage and inspire your followers to learn more. Are your followers stagnant and unwilling to add to their knowledge? If your followers don’t see any need to add to the knowledge they already have, then you need to look inward because the problem could be from you.
Finally, are your actions encouraging others to do more and give more to the society? Measure your words and actions by the results you get, and then you can begin to beat your chest as a true leader.
