A lot of noise and statements have been made about our lack of maintenance culture in Nigeria. Just to add to that, did you know that Nigerians spend billions of Naira annually importing wines and other beverages? The other day, the internet and social media sites were filled with stories of how a serving senator of the Federal Republic branded bottles of champagne in a party either organized for him or organized by him. Sometimes in August, pictures of a rich politician surfaced online where he was pictured partying the night away with some ladies around him. Can’t something be done about the way we spend? Can’t we call ourselves to order in order to save our dying economy?
