I Will Give Anything To Trade Places With The Poor
I have been poor, and you must believe me when I say that nothing compares to being poor and happy. On the other hand, being rich and lacking in happiness and peace are two of the worse things that can happen to the rich of this world.
I am rich, and even though, I was not born a silver spoon, I never knew wealth could come along with tons of sadness. Wealth gotten through unclean means will always have devastating consequences in the end.
I was raised in a humble environment by parents that will stop at nothing to see to it that their children live a life of honesty. My dad in particular would rather die without food that covet that which does not belong to him. Sometimes I ask myself where things went wrong for me as I grew up. Being the son of one of the most honest men in my community, it is difficult to describe me as the son of a credible man.
I didn’t spill blood nor did I rob anyone to make my money, but I became a victim of ill-gotten wealth due to my covetousness. I could say I blackmailed someone to make my money, and now someone is about to bring an end to my wealth through similar means, and much worse than what I did.
Blackmail however, is the least of my problems as peace in my home has become elusive. The situation is so hopelessly tough that I feel like ending it. My kids don’t give me peace, all my three wives have younger lovers outside marriage, and on top of these things I still have to worry about other issues burning within my heart that cannot be shared with even the person closest to me.
When I see the poor wishing they were rich, I just shake my head and move on because there are many things we know not. When I see a lot of people praying and wishing they had the kind of money I control, I just call them fools within my heart.
People around you won’t even tell you the truth even when it is very obvious that you are not making progress. Even the religious bodies who come for help are not reliable enough for me to open up to; which makes my situation more hopeless.
Peace is priceless, but there is nothing I won’t do to regain the peace I once enjoyed before wealth strolled into my life. If chasing out the women in my life means peace, then I would gladly do that.
However, things don’t work that way because I am sure from what I have heard from many sources that these women have given me a lot of things to eat and have taken my names to several places.
My children too cannot be disowned as this doesn’t guarantee peace either because no matter what happens, they still bear my name.
There is nothing I won’t give to trade places with some of the poor people I see on the street every day. I sincerely need help!
