My Possessive Husband Is Now Turning Attention To My Only Daughter
I may not be able to give a detailed definition of what love truly is; but what I do know is that it has nothing to do with being possessive. There is no way Eric can convince me that his love for me is the reason why he keeps monitoring me. He monitors me all day, and has been doing that since we got married 14 years ago.
Deji is one of those men who could spoil you with all the best gifts money can afford. However, he is not one of those men who would let a fly as much as perch on his wife. He loves me no doubt; but he doesn’t trust me enough to be alone with any man. Sometimes I wonder how I managed to get myself into this type of marriage. I mean this was a man I dated for a couple of years before we got married, and he never hid his possessive attitude from me; yet I went ahead to marry him. Actually I thought things would change once we settled down since he won’t have to worry about any man snatching me from him; but of course, things are just the same way.
Anyway, I am already used to it, and it doesn’t bother me or any of my siblings anymore. We have all learnt how not to take note of those silly habits of his anymore. As a matter of fact, only a stranger would be surprised at his behaviour.
The problem I now have to deal with is one that has to do with the way he shields and protects our 13 year old daughter from mixing up with friends. I mean how could a man in this time and age be so possessive that he forbids other teenagers from being around his daughter? He practically forbids her from attending birthday parties even in the neighbourhood, and stops her from hanging around other kids that are of different sex. I don’t know what to call it, but it does look like he has lost it. At thirteen, my daughter doesn’t have male friends; and the worst of it is that she attends an all-female secondary school.
This kind of attitude is driving me crazy because it doesn’t look like I can continue to take it. Ironically, he doesn’t see anything wrong in the male children mixing up with people of different sex. As a matter of fact, he encourages them to bring them home, and this makes my little girl sad. In as much as I know that my little daughter is still too young to start dating anyone; I find it awkward that Deji thinks she will be unduly influenced by the opposite sex.
Psychologically this seems to be affecting my little daughter as she seems to have this fear of being dealt with by her dad anytime she as much as dare to look at a boy. I don’t know what to do, and how to address this situation that is gradually driving me insane.
Advice is urgently needed!
