The only constant thing in life is change, and that explains why countries all over the world are gradually embracing the idea of having a female president. Times have changed, with women all over the world holding key positions. Countries like the United Kingdom, Liberia, Brazil, and the likes have all had women at the helm of affairs at their countries at one time or the other.
In Nigeria, women are gradually finding their ways into political offices, with some being elected as senators, house of rep members, deputy governors and the likes. However, Nigerians are still waiting for that day and time when a woman will be elected as a Governor, and thereafter as a President.
Not a big ask in my opinion, but when are we going to get to that stage? Will Nigeria ever produce a female President like Brazil? Do you think the political class will ever allow a female President in a country where the culture and tradition of the people barely allows a woman to hold certain offices?
Do you think a female President would be capable of taking certain decisions such as fighting Boko Haram, fighting corruption, and even declaring war on another nation for instance?
