Rapists are on the loose, and the sooner we faced the fact and get that into our heads, the better for our society. It is so alarming that a day hardly goes by without a case of rape being reported in our dailies. The closest these people ever get to being punished is when they are exposed on TV and newspapers. No one hears much about them after they have been exposed. It does seem like they are being let off the hook so easily without much punishment being meted out to them.
What then should be the best form of punishment for a rapist? Should the government introduce life sentence of capital punishment in order to curb the high cases of rape in the country? What sort of punishment would make a rapist change his way and never consider doing such thing again? Is a rapist a sane person? Can he or how can he be reformed and converted into a better person? What is the major motivation for those who unlawfully force people to have sex with them?
Is the law against rape strong enough or being implemented enough by the relevant agencies?
