Do you think Marriage can survive without adequate fund?

Although the decision to marry someone is private, marriage itself is not a private act. Marriage is, in fact, the most important social act, one that involves more than just the married couple. Extended families are merged and renewed through a wedding. It is also through marriage that the community and the nation are renewed. A new home is formed when a couple marries, one open to the creation of new life. These children are the future. But can marriage survive without adequate fund? Can arguments be avoided when money becomes an issue?

Money and marriage are inseparable no matter what some Romeo and Juliet diehard fans would want you to believe. So do you think a marriage can survive without adequate finance?

A tough one, but the truth is that marriages crumble these days because most couples dabble into it thinking things will smoothen out with time, but things go contrary to expectations.

Some will point to the fact that true love transcends all barriers; but does it have sound bases in marriage when there is an extreme financial limitation? Love don’t pay bills, love don’t put food on the table, love don’t do nothing money should do, and on and on…

This is one issue both parties would reckon with. Most people feel it is the responsibility of the man to adequately fund the marriage since he is the head of the family. However, we know of situations where the woman is the bread winner of the house where she caters for almost everything that happens in the house while the husband a jobless but gainfully employed in the house chores. Some people see this as embarrassing, while other would say; “for as long as there isn’t any problem between them, it is fine..”

“How can I use my money when he is there to foot the bills he is responsible for?”. This was the opinion of one of the women who responded to this topic and I feel its the opinion of the day.

What is your take on this?
