How Much Of The Constitution Do You Know As A Nigerian?

BY IYANDA   •   December 17, 2015   •   1 MIN READ

Did you know that having access to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not cost a dime? Yes it doesn’t cost a dime because all you need is to go online or perhaps, pay a little dime to gain access to it in any of the National or States Libraries across the country. Knowing or having access to the constitution of the country has a lot of benefits including knowing when your right as a citizen is being trampled upon or abused. In case you already have a copy of the constitution, the question is; how much of it do you know?

Do you know when you are being denied your rights as a citizen by a policeman?

As Nigerians, one of the reasons why we suffer in silence and suffer for things we know nothing of is because we know next to nothing about what the constitution says. The constitution is like a guide that teaches you what you should do or not do at a particular point in time.

Perhaps, it may interest you to know that the police has no right to ask you to make some payments for bail.

Make it a duty to have a copy of the constitution; it is for your own good.
