Is Jealousy A Sign Of True Love In A Relationship?

Jealousy comes about when a person has a feeling that a relationship that is valued highly his being threatened by a third-party. This could either be romantic, platonic, friendship, parent-child, sibling etc. For the record, jealousy is quite different from envy; the latter (jealousy) is a situation where one desires something that another person has, although sometimes you can feel both at the same time.

Having said that, is jealousy a sign of true love in a relationship or just a sheer act of desperation and insecurity on the part of the person feeling jealous?

Would you be uncomfortable if your spouse gets or becomes too jealous especially anytime he or she sees you with someone of the opposite sex? Would you consider jealousy on the part of your partner as a sign of insecurity, and how would you handle it? If your partner never gets jealous each time he or she sees you with the opposite sex, would you feel unloved? When is jealousy considered out of hand during a relationship?

Jealousy is not a rare emotion; I mean it is a feeling a lot of people feel now and then. It can bring you down and probably pull apart your relationship; and can also be a signal to you that it is about time you either make a change or change something in your life that will allow you to move on to the next stage of your emotional growth.
