We ladies are hard to understand, and that is why we are always judged incorrectly by the society when it comes to relationships. There is this guy that has been after me for five years or thereabout. He has been asking me out, but I never really liked him until recently when I started developing interest in him.
Michael has been on my trail since he moved into our neighbourhood, then I was still trying to secure admission into the university. He tried all he could to make me say yes, but I never gave him the chance, and was a bit rude to him a couple of times.
Fast forward to 2015, and the same Michael is now the man I always admire from afar. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t turn him down because of the state of his wallet, but I did that because I was dating someone else and didn’t see any reason to double-date.
Five years have gone by and it’s been close to a year since he last asked me out, which suggests that he, may have thrown in the towel. Now Cupid has fired its arrow and it has struck me in the “right” place; but I am not sure if the fire is still burning in Michael’s heart.
We still retain a form of formal relationship; but that is where it ends. How do I even approach him and tell him I am now ready for a relationship with him after saying no for five years? I have been seeing him with a particular lady for a couple of months now, and this gets me jealous a lot. Could Michael be dating the lady?
I have been trying to get closer to him, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in chatting me up as he used to.
Should I approach him and open up? What if he says no or pretends he has agreed and starts playing on my emotions? What if he starts seeing me as someone who is desperate? The truth is I still have other suitors—so it’s not like I no longer appeal to men; but Michael suddenly becomes the man I can’t do without.
Please help me ooo…
