Can Nigeria Ever Change For The Better?

It is so sad the way  some of us Nigerians talk about the state we have found ourselves in this country. Youths and even the older generation believe things may never change for the better in this nation again. Is it that they have lost all hope of a better future for Africa’s largest economy? Do you think people are more bothered about their individual aspirations than our collective dream as a nation.

It bothers me the way people speak, I even  hear some of my friends talk about how they hope to eat of the national cake once they get the opportunity to do so and they still keep complaining about the teriible situation of the country . The growth of the economy is not their prerogative as they are more concerned with how to line their pockets with stolen money. They see politics as a means to achieve their aspirations, and so they dump whatever has brought them to limelight and declare their political aspirations with pomp.

To these people, politics presents them with the shortest route and opportunity to corner wealth, and depart from a life of wretchedness and poverty. Does it mean Nigeria has no hope of getting better? Must we all milk the treasury in order to make it in Nigeria?

What about you; do you think there is a chance things will ever get better in this country again?
