Are you surprised at seeing today’s “unanswered question?” Well, today’s question is based on several comments and arguments being out forward by Nigerian men about how not getting the credit they deserve from their partner. They (Nigerian men) feel that what they get in return from their partner is nothing compared to what they put in to keep their relationship going. Take the case of the annual St Valentine’s Day that is held on the 14th of February every year–the men feel that the gift they get in exchange for what they give is nothing compared to what they give.
A guy once said in an online forum that what he got from his girlfriend as a Valentine’s gift was a pair of boxers and a packet of singlet. This, according to him, was nothing compared to the expensive smartphone and an expensive evening he treated her to in a 3-star restaurant.
Men too have complained that they sacrifice time, energy, and even sleep beside spending money to keep their partners happy. That is why we want to know if Nigerian men are truly getting less than they are putting into their relationship?
