Why Is It Becoming Too Difficult To Curb Examination Malpractices?

Examination malpractice is one of the biggest problems facing the education sector in Nigeria. Students in both secondary and tertiary institutions no longer want to sturdy hard to come out tops in their exams; everyone wants to go through the short cuts. While some continue to blame the government for this huge problem, others continue to point accusing fingers at the examination bodies. It is a sort of blaming game—with everyone trading blames. No one wants to accept responsibility for the rot in the system. Now it has become one of the most difficult issues facing our nation. The question is, why is it becoming too difficult to curb examination malpractices in Nigeria?

What could be the major challenge at curbing this monster? Are we really tackling the problem as we ought to? The painful part is that it seems to be spreading, with reports of parents getting involved. Parents and guardians now encourage their children to look for “special or miracle centres” just to pass their exams. No one wants to read and pass exams anymore.
