“If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.”—Margaret Thatcher.

Sometimes we get carried away by cheap praises and publicity; much to the detriment of our ability to reason properly. We love being hailed and praised in public places; we love honour, even when we know we are still far away from being what the world think we are already.

Men will always dig a huge hole, lay a rug over it, and ask you to come and sit on it as a king—but it is up to you to assess every move. Life is not always what it seems to be, there are thorns in the midst of roses if only we could care enough to look deeply.

Surrounding yourself with men who have passion for saying you are “always” right even when you are convinced you are not, is a recipe for disaster—a dead clock is only right two times a day. Learn to accept criticism, and above all, learn to separate hypocrisy from that which is true and helpful as you continue to sail the seas of life.
